God laughed

An old saying is that “Man plans and God laughs.” Definitely applies to me. Early spring (2024) I bought a super clean, low milage 1989 Goldwing Aspencade in wineberry. At 75 and bad legs my plan was to install a sidecar. ((I have had 3 rigs previously.) I found a California Sidecar, Friendship II on a 1200 Goldwing, dirty but was overall good shape, bike was junk.

Many hours later car was removed, cleaned up, stripped down and ready to prime, sand and paint. Ordered new w/s and installed new tire and shock. Car even had manufacturer installed extra gas tank and installation hardware looked adaptable to other bikes. May 2 I had a major heart followed by open heart surgery. Now still too weak to even consider attaching sidecar my self.

This long story is to ask if anyone knows of SOMEONE who can 1) do this work 2) is reasonably priced and 3) known to be reputable, reliable and do good work? Also, be within a couple hundred miles of Cincinnati, Ohio.

If not you will see my dream for sale elsewhere in this forum. Any information will be appreciated! Best to all my fellow sidecarists!

Sadly, it is not within a couple hundred miles of Cincinnati, Ohio.

It is 203 miles....so if you are willing to go that extra 3 miles......................... Bob Wark is your man.

@miles-ladue Talked with Bob a number of times. No longer works with big bikes such as Goldwing. Certainly understand as he is only a few years younger than me. Smaller bikes and sidecars, he is the man!

It's more than 200 miles; in fact it's 325 miles, but....Hannigan Motorsports in Murray, KY is a winning bet.

Alternately, Claude Stanley at Freedom Sidecar Works in Middleburg, PA is 425 miles.

Sorry, probably not being exceptionally helpful.  I'll go back to my nap, now.

All kidding aside, Bob, do get well and DO listen to your inner voice that says "ask for help", then do what it says.  Also, to quote the great, several times Prime Minister of Great Britain " Never, never, never give up."

Just for the record. The mounting brackets is different between the 1200 and 1500. So you really do need someone to custom build something.
