Note re: DOUG BINGHAM - "Sidestrider.com" Just received a note from Louis - pres, Socalsidecar.
"Doug Bingham suffered a coronary event this weekend. He is at North Ridge Hospital. Liz is at his side. Larry G. went to visit him yesterday and states that Doug seemed disorganized. He is awake and alert, however maybe not completely sure of his surroundings."... Prayers, you all. 🙂

One of the true gentlemen of sidecaring. He always gave of himself and would help anyone any way he could. I wish him the best.

I called him one time to ask about a book on the 75th Anniversery of Watsonion Sidecars. He said. " oh yes that was written by John Proctor in England, give him a call "

He then gave me the phone number from memory. Quite a fellow.

I had one of his rigs on a 650 Yamaha in the late 70s and early 80s. Good rig.

Doug was one of the first people I spoke to about Sidecars. A wonderfully up beat person, that would not tire of talking "Sidecars"! 🙂
I always enjoyed our talks. It just "felt" like talking to an "old friend"!

Wishing you a quick recovery!

Sorry to hear this. Just saw Doug at Paso Robles two weekends ago.
He didn't travel up on a rig... which is unusual. We bullted for a while (which is usual) and talked about this years Griffith Park.
From one Valley Dude to another... hoping for a full recovery.

He spent an hour on the phone with me educating me about sidecars years ago. I was very up front with him by saying that I wasn't planning on buying anything for quite some time. What a wonderful guy. He's in my prayers.

🙂 That's exactly how our "realationship" started! I imagine it's the same for many of us! Get well soon Doug!
