This was posted on another site. Not sure how accurate the info is, or where it came from. I just like charts. 🤩
Hold my keyboard and watch this! 🙃
Steve, I know everything there is to know about Cold weather riding, and how to get warm and stay warm.
The Gerbing Heated Clothing of old...is no longer.
Long story, which I will tell you the full story in a few weeks, when I deliver your new Sidecar rig, as I drive it from balmy Florida to the freeze zone known as Kansas....in January.
Once I get back home next week, I will lay it all out for you in a detailed email, and phone call, so you know what to buy... just before Xmas.
But... hold off buying anything until I get back home, so I can explain it all to you.
And yes ...I am still using 30 year old Gerbing Heated Clothing, as it still works. I will be using that same heated gear next month when I enter....the freeze zone...aka Kansas in January.

Awesome your usual thoroughness is appreciated. Is the sidecar heated Miles, King Cyrus the 1st would like to know =)

Well, your new dog is certainly not Smiley Cyrus.
Does he ever smile ?
No, the Sidecar itself is not "heated", however there is a heated throw, or blanket that can plug in to the outlets inside the Sidecar. There is also a 3 speed fan built in to the dash of the Sidecar, so can blow air....a bag of ice on hotter days, or a plug in mini heater on colder days.
Um... anything else that King Cyrus would like ?

He would like more food he has just had some gravy and a few bits from my dinner and he wants more =)
They keep dogs skinny in kennels for sure.

The thing that most fascinates me about stroopwaffles is that they’re designed to be set on top of a warm beverage and melt the caramel inside a little.
Unfortunately since King Cyrus I doesn’t have proper digits, holding the stroopwaffle and drinking said warm beverage will be problematic.
Illegitemi non carborundum est!
@thane-lewis There is so much fuss about these stroopwaffles i will get some tomorrow from Wally World =)

Steve, make sure the ones you get at Walmart are the real thing....real STROOPWAFFLES....made in the Netherlands.
As Thane pointed out, the ideal way to eat a STROOPWAFFLE is to place it on top of a cup of hot coffee, or hot tea, or hot chocolate, and allow the heat of the beverage to warm up the thin layer of caramel that's in between the two waffle wafers.

Riding up here in Canada you almost never ride anywhere and leave your heated gear at home..Even in the heat of summer. One never knows. But of course the coldest I've ever been was riding down part of the Oregon coast.. Heated vest tucked nicely away in the the tent back at the MOA rally.. Silly me.
Most of the time even when temps get below freezing you can get away with proper layers and just a heated jacket and good wind protection of course. I managed to pick up a nice Gerbings jacket from a retired rider a while back and it is my go to now.. My warm & Safe jacket is too hot and needs a controller to regulate it.. I lost the controller when my tank back got stolen a few years ago and I haven't replaced it yet.. "Grrrrrr. Fricken rascals". Most will need some sort of controller to regulate warmth. Most of my other vests, jackets have failed to some extent even the Areostich one.. After many uses mind you. The only other thing I use from time to time is battery operated heated gloves ( cold hands are my nemesis ) but they are only good for short rides and are a pain to manage battery charge if on a longer trip. Longer trips I just carry really good winter gloves. It seems, I now only do longer trips in fair weather so a moot point really. Actually I have basically turned into a fair weather rider. Age and options have a way of doing that I suppose. I do always have the heated jacket tucked away some where on the rig though, just in case..
Which brings to mind this little post from my latest Areostich Spam.. I found it kind of fun and made me smile.
It’s 1915. A driver in an early fully enclosed automobile/horseless carriage and a rider on a motorcycle pull up to park somewhere alongside one another at the exact same moment. It’s raining heavily. Over the thunderous roar of the falling rain, the smug driver says to the rider, “I bet you wish you had a car!” The rider smiles and replies: “No, but I sure wish it would stop raining!”

Brian, I probably have an extra controller for Gerbing heated clothing, so....send me an e-mail to midliferider@aol.com, and let's see exactly what you need, and if I have an extra one. If so, I can ship it up to you.
Are you looking for a single pot controller, or a dual pot controller ?
