Guys I need help.

I am looking for a car tire that will replace my rear on a Honda st 1300. The size is 170/60/17.

I had a flat and I need a new rear and I hate to go with another mc tire. Anyone got any ideas. I put a contie classic on last year and I have not been able to find the right tire.

Any h e l P would be appreciated.

I've never found a tire narrow enough for a 17 inch rim. It would be nice, my Guzzi has a 150/80 17.

Quick up-date on my article on this thread....today got to "test run" my newly installed car tire on front wheel.......S/C & rear wheel already have C/Ts.......
the "square profile" allows steering to track better and has eliminated almost all of low speed head shake....my main concern was turning resistance.....but it turns easy.......

Yaa, I run C/Ts on all 3 and I too lost all the head shake. It must be the square profile.

Does anyone have any sugestions for a car tire to fit a 1997 Goldwing 1500 Front rim? I am seriously considering going to one on the next tire change to eliminate the wobble when starting out or stopping.

I'd much rather depend on a static balance than a bunch of loose balls rolling around in my tires. Wheel balance weights stay put under acceleration and stopping. What do you suppose happens to loose balls?

I haven't tried them yet, but a friend brought up a good point. Balance your back tire by a conventional manner, put on 1,000 miles, and check the balance. It will no longer be correct. The beads keep it in balance from new to replace. He also claims that his tire life is increased by about 50% since he started using them on his Harley.

I plan to try them in the future. If they don't work, you can always go back to crimp on weights.

Keep both hands on the handlebars and you will eliminate the wobble when starting out or stopping. Or install raked triple tree.

The only tire I've found that might work in place of the stock HD 16" tire with a 25.7" diameter is the 450/475-16 tube-type tire for 3.5" rims with a 26.2" diameter at: http://store.cokertire.com/450-475-16-firestone-blackwall.html

Maybe someone will try one and let us know how it works.

Hey, Ole Coyote: What tire is on the back of your motorcycle?

I already have the raked tripple tree, I can live with the slight wobble on start and stop, but would like to get better milage out of the front like I get on the back and have been told it also eliminates that wobble, The question was for suggestions on a tire that would fit? it uses a 130/70h-18 motorcycle tire.

A lot of trike riders install rear tire of same size on the front of goldwing. I did it 3k miles ago. Have not enough info yet. So far tire looks good. I use to have wobble but after raking the bike it no where to be found.
