@thane-lewis

Hannigan is also very creative in over coming any mounting issues. I doubt there are many bikes they have not attached a sidecar to. They keep their jig and specs for every mount and part they make.

All in a room marked and ready when needed.

@smitty901, as a salamander, I "newt" that. Just commenting on that H-D trike, as you showed a picture of it.

Again, let me know when you think you will be going to Hannigan, and I'll see if I can time it right to be there at the same time.

@miles-ladue

I am sure you have also had the full grand tour including the back rooms.

   I am looking at going down next week.  Need to at least give local shop Kool trike a chance. And some VA things to deal with.

Then I am just going to top of the tank and burn up some miles hash it all out.

    I know Kool Trike will come up short. Their kit gets rid of ABS and just over rides RDRS.

  Looks like Tuesday for Hannigan.  VFW stuff to do all day Sunday. Early wake up Monday hit the road check in BW in Murray. Sit down with Hannigan Tuesday. Head home.

@miles-ladue

I think we may have met at Hannigan some time back.

   I spent enough time out of the US. I have no plans to ever leave the US again. While they still could call me back . I think that would be a stretch at this point.

Yea I purchased a Trike kit and install. Last 80 mile of ride back was in rain. Took this one for a ride just for the heck of it.

Am I the only anal retentive sidecarist on these forums (DON'T answer that), as I noticed that in the 2nd picture posted above, the END time/date of that road trip.....is tonight, June 5, 2024, at 9:00 pm.....and on Earth we are not even there yet.

So, it begs the question, is @smitty901 an alien lifeform from another planet ? Did he travel back in time to post a ride that will be completed  later tonight?

@miles-ladue

HD GPS has it quirks . I shut bike off then turned it on latter that caused a date change.

Today is the 5th and I darn sure rolled in garage at 2100 aka as 9pm .

@smitty901, I must admit that I am befuddled.... befuddled I say....as to why you would remove the sidecar from your H-D, use that H-D to have Hannigan's build you a trike....then go out and buy another H-D to have your lonely sidecar married to.

I would think (and contrary to public opinion, I do think) that keeping your current sidecar rig as is.....then finding a completely different H-D to have Hannigan's build you a trike, but... what the hay do I know ?

@miles-ladue

The RGL already has more power than sidecar or Trike needs. May have gone a little over board with the CAM. It has the front end already done to work with the trike. I wanted a project and setting the sidecar up again will be fun. I could even end up on a Road King . The mounts I have will fit any HD touring bike 2009 to current with out any mods.

This route gets the Trike down faster and gives me time to consider the direction to go in. The twin Classic will get some modification.

The Twin classic sidecar as of the trip to Hannigan and back has close to 82,000 miles on it. Second bike it has been on time for a third.
