Hey peas,
By ABS I assume you mean anti-lock braking system? What kinda setup ya got? HD is very clear on this. They absolutely do not recommend mounting a sidecar on one of their bikes with ABS (available on some police models). They are working on a mod to the braking system to allow their safe use but I don't believe it is available yet. Some of the other guys could probably give you more info on other setups.

Seems to me I've seen some discussion on beemers with abs somewhere around here. Several of the guys are pretty up on this bike so I'm sure we'll get a specific answer but from what I've read about the problem with Harleys I get the impression there's a real engineering issue here and if the rig gets goosey when you hit the brakes I'd definately switch it off until someone with experience with this particular setup gets back to you.

Switch it off, or disconnect if you can. The ABS is not configured to operate with the sidecar. It is engineered for the factory stock vehicle only.

I guess you could say that with the addition of a sidecar, your ABS changed from Anti-skid Braking System to Anti Brake Skidding-system! 🙂
