Just installed a 1988 TLE on my 2002 FLHTC..
I purchased a new HD installation mount kit for it..Nice kit..very complete and good instructions..Everything fit perfect...
I also was lucky enough to find a NOS complete electric reverse kit...It also was very complete and great fitting..Its operation is somewhat funky, but it really does the job of backin up, not that the unit is hard to push backwards...Just kinda a kewl option that really blows people away....
I did recieve alot of info from member GNM109 from this site...
His info and expierience helped me to do the install with great sucsess...Thx GM.
In the first 1000 miles I have learned how to drive all over again ...Nothing like 2 wheels...
I do find the steering at times heavy, but not unbearable...
i have purchased a set of 5 degree raked trees for it..They are an aftermarket set made by LNM..
Very nice billet machining...i believe they are a Champion copy...
I plan on retaining the stabilizer as well..
Anyhow, after having riding HDs for over 35 years, and having owned approx 350 of em, I have to admit, my Rig has gotta be the most fun i have had in years....Everyone seems to smile and wave etc, and my dog just cant get enough....LOL..
Thx for all the help I have recieved from here, and once i do the raked tress , i will post the results...
Till then....Ride safe and Have FUN....Hankb..

Sidecars are fun, aren't they? For both man and dog ... and children. 🙂
Glad you are enjoying your rig.

Ya done good,Hank,
I hope the Motor Company keeps stocking the Installation kits. Very few used purchases contain all the parts needed for the installation on same year bikes, let alone the blending of off year bike/hack combos. The prices are high but the frustration level can be much higher without all the right stuff.
