i used to drive a 78 r100/velorex outfit for my sole year round transportation in the mid 90s and have the nostalgia bug. i'd like an outfit with a classic flare and find the urals attractive.  if i had time i'd take a trip to europe for this sweet setup https://www.subito.it/moto-e-scooter/x-x-527003634.htm

i'm up for being educated on value and reliability, but know my budget isn't that big.  i'd like to be all in for <7Gs USD but could be coaxed to spend more for something that has what it takes.

currently on 2 wheels with a 2016 ducati urban enduro cafe bike https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipMAr8JN1SjCSaJdx7HlANhTWR1vsPj4t9YscaoDR7OvJyPGMr-6JU-qHC1UARvPLg?key=Qkd6dTlSZzdMOWRIVGVxLThwUFpLcDFoZTFpZjBB

That Guzzi rig would be sweet.

Hopefully a modern V twin will come your way.

Mine is the V9 Watsonian.

Just ignore the others.......

If still looking I have a 1987 K100LT with professionally installed EML sidecar for sale for $5500 firm. Unknown miles but over $4000 in bike in last few thousand miles. Every seal, gasket, pump, lines and belts replaced. Basically new except for long block. 3 new  14” car tires and new brakes all around. Honestly believe sidecar value is about what I asking for entire rig.

Such a gorgeous bike.  I was sorely tempted to add that to my collection but my collection has outgrown my garage.

Did Dave tell you the story about the color?

The guy that painted it chose that color specifically to p!ss off the BMW purists.

Run in tips are best found on https://www.airheads.org/community/

Brooke is an excellent source for repair.  His videos are especially helpful  https://brook.reams.me/

And if you have the patience to wade through the digital ink https://bmwmotorcycletech.info/break-in.htm

@andrew-bakerfor

Thanks for introducing me to Dave!

I had my first ride on the bike without the chair. It ran well. Going to break it in before rigging it up.

Dave did tell me about the intention behind the paint. I like the color and it has gotten some thumbs-ups from others. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about matching sidecar/bike paint - not the main priority for a while.

I have been busy getting the boat in shape for summer but i thought i would add an update on the R50

the bike is running nicely after some brake and carb adjustments.  i still have not bolted up the chair as i have only been able to get about 150 miles on the bike so far and want to make sure i have it dialed in.  it is a lot of fun to ride solo but i am looking forward to rigging it up around 300-500 miles.  some nice weather is finally arriving here - wish all fun riding and driving!
