For sale: 2005 Triumph Rocket III with Champion Escort sidecar. The bike has 23,853 miles and the rig was installed when the bike was almost new.  I was told this rig was assembled by Claude Stanley at Freedom Sidecars. The bike lower subframe mounting system seems like his quality of work, but I have no record that he actually did the work. The rig has:

Jay’s tilt mechanism
Darkside front and rear tires
Brembo sidecar brake
Larger Clearview windscreen
Sidecar tonneau cover
Homebuilt fork mounted wind deflectors
Corbin seat with Utopia backrest
Eastern beaver headlight (relay) mod
Sissy bar mounted T-Bag luggage
New battery (2024)
Oil change with triumph bits and liquid moly 15w-50 (2024)

A Rocket III makes a great tug. It has mountains of torque (163 ft-lb) and much more than adequate power (148 HP) coming from its 2300cc (140 cubic inch) engine . Its weight is a great match for the Champion sidecar.  If you’ve ever been on a rig that wasn’t set up correctly, you will really appreciate this one. It goes straight down the road. Accelerates “briskly” and has no shortage of stopping power.  Sure, you can fly the car. Thats part of the fun. But with this rig, everything is predictable.

I bought this rig in 2012 and took it on many adventures with my (then young) daughters. Time passes, they are now adults, and it is time to pass this on to its next owner.

If you bought the sidecar new today, it would be $5500, without a subframe or mounting hardware.

I need $8000 for the whole rig, ready to go from Oak Ridge TN.

Thanks!  It’s been a great friend and given us time and experiences together I will never forget.

if you look closely, you will see it also has a Breakaway throttle lock installed. I also have the OEM windscreen if a buyer wants it.

Nice video. I love the sound of that engine, makes we want to go fire mine up. Someone really needs to buy that rig and take it out and ride it.

Hi, I also have a 2005 Rocket III with a DMC-Kenna sidecar. I love it. Just put a big fat car tire on the back. What a great bike for pulling a sidecar though. Good luck with your sale. I'm keeping mine.

Chuck, in answer to the question you posted on the ADVRider hacks forum, regarding steering mods, and is it worth it to have that done, or not.....

In MY opinion, on a Rocket III rig, yes it is worth it to have that done. As you will read on your posted question on ADVRider, our own CCjon answered you that on his Rocket III rig, he installed the reduced trail triple trees himself, and it cost him about $ 1,000.00

Now, I bought a Rocket III sidecar rig a year or two ago, flew down to AZ to pick it up, and drove that rig back home to Washington state, and immediately sold it, primarily because it had no steering modification, and IMO it was a bear to steer, and I am not a 90 lb weakling. It was not the only reason I sold it immediately, but was the primary reason. I posted an ad for it so fast, that one of the other guys that was originally considering it when it was for sale in AZ, bought it from me within 24 hours, flew up to Washington, and drove it down the coast to So. Calif.

Keep the price at $ 8,000.00, or add an EZ Steering triple trees to it, and sell it for $ 9,500.00

While emptying yet another box (we moved in August), I found the original Triumph two-piece seat.

so if that was what was giving you pause in buying this fantastic rig, rest assured it is now included.

and for the same low low price!
