We are selling the machine because we have not been using it; we both are not getting any younger and it is time to part with it.
Hand made in Wenings, Germany by Horst Ulrich, this machine was made from a USA model R80ST that was purchased in the San Francisco Bay Area and shipped by air to Germany. We purchased the bike from the original owner. When we returned to the US it was shipped by air. We toured Europe and Turkey with the machine before our travels were cut short.
Everything associated with the construction of the rig was either new or completely rebuilt. For example, the engine block was replaced because the left side exhaust valve lifter had damaged the block. The R80ST had a 1000 cc kit installed when we made the purchase.
The transmission was rebuilt to include a lower first gear to get the machine rolling with less stress on the engine due to the increase weight it is dealing with.
The final drive was new, geared for an R65 in order to ensure that the engine would be able to handle the weight.
I personally rebuilt the entire electrical wiring harness. There are two computer generated, laminated wiring diagrams included with the machine. A Scorpio alarm system is installed. the wiring was done with all connectors sourced from BMW and was done in accordance with factory specs with the exception of the connectors for the alarm system which, of course, are part of the Scorpio product.
The gas tank on the bike is 11 gallons and the auxiliary tank on the sidecar is 6 gallons. This gives adequate range to go just about anywhere in the world without having to strap on gas cans that could result in a disaster in case of an accident.
The aluminum boxes were made by Roger Guhr, who owns RMS - Rennsporttechnik in Germany.

BTW,, I know your Sidecar rig, as it's quite well known, from the original builder, and how well it was built, and its purpose.
We would love to see it shown here, so please post a couple more posts, then blast us with pictures.
I have seen dozens of pictures of your rig, and it truly shows as a work of genius.
