Some Recommended Tasks To Perform

Here are some suggestions for things to try out with this new software:
- Create a new post, insert an image.
- Edit your own post. Look for the little icon in the lower right corner (very little).
- Experiment with the rich text editor. Make your font larger. Use bold. Italics. Change the color. Be creative!
- Subscribe to the topic you started. Or click on the top of the forum and subscribe to all posts/topics in the forum. Watch for the emails notifying you of new posts.
- Look at this new forum software on your phone. Create a post. I think it looks amazing!
- Look at your profile. This is much improved over the current forum software. Add a signature that shows at the bottom of each post you make.
What else?

this is weird, I can see Al's post but it doesn't show it out on the main page.
when I click on the P it highlights the last line I wrote, but not sure what it will do
OK if you click the P and hit enter it will erase the last line you typed
hey there is the attach button
and I can type all around the picture 👍

Welcome Al! I think the 'P" is an HTML indicator of the type of text tag you are typing. The 'P' would indicate a 'paragraph' type of text.
There isn't a typical image or icon to attach - there is a link at the bottom of the text window "My Media". For some reason some people are not seeing that but instead seeing a message "No more attachments for today." I have submitted a support ticket asking why this is.
And, as a bonus, this forum software is very well integrated with Wordpress such that not only are all the users recognized but it also recognizes and uses our existing messaging app ("Better Messages"). So no change there. Very nice.
If I click on the icon in the upper menu for the <> that is to insert some code. The HTML tag for that is "preformatted" so if you click on it or maybe hover over it it will show "pre" as the tag at the bottom. So that tells me most people can ignore it safely and just continue to type.
This is some sample code text.
Back to normal text ('P' tag).

Apologies for being a bit late to the party. 😮
Will spend time this afternoon to get acquainted, and start interacting.
@Viajero (just checking to see if I can "At you Man!" lol) Thank you for all the work and effort you put in to this.

ETA: Wow! Much faster posting time from hitting the submit, to the post hitting the site. 👍 *
Hold my keyboard and watch this! 🙃

Jerry--I'm looking to see if the posts are numbered. Like, sometimes I don't want to quote a post but I might want to say "Take a look at Post #23 above." But I don't see any number labels?

I did a search in their support forums. There was a question about numbered posts and the answer was that posts are not numbered and there are no plans to add that feature. Not a deal-breaker but it would be nice. I think that means if you want to refer to another post you have to copy/paste the link to it.
Hyperlinks - As a quick lesson for anyone who may not know, there is a better way to copy links. Instead of pasting the 'naked' link into a post like this: https://sidecar.com/wpforo/events-and-rallies/2024-usca-national-rally/#post-25 (Note the post number in the link!)
Instead, type your descriptive text, highlight it, then click on the 'chain link' icon above (or press control K). In the box that pops up it should contain the descriptive text you highlighted, then you can paste the link in the other box, and submit. And you get a nice result like this: 2024 USCA National Rally. Or you can say click here (same link, different text).
Here is what the hyperlink popup box looks like when you press control K:
I hope that helps someone.

It might be here and I just don't see it. Can we see who is online when we are? If I check the forum at 3 AM, can I see who else can't sleep and is online at that time? Or our down-under friends might be on.

I don't think it displays everyone who is online at the top level, but when I look at any post or thread down at the bottom I can a line that says "Currently viewing this topic" and says 1 user (me) or maybe 2 users and another username.
And remember another advantage is this forum software is compatible with out existing message app (down in the bottom right corner of your screen). So if you see someone is online you can use that to DM them (direct message).
