Hello  everyone,

I'm new at this sidecar thing and tonight I took a shock absorber of of my Terraplane sidecar and  on the shock absorber reads Monroe  C-81. I've tried looking up C-81 but nothing comes up in the search.  Does anyone have any idea how I can find something that will fit? I'm not a mechanic at all and have no equipment to fabricate anything.  There is on the upper end of the swingarm what appears to be some kind of a plastic cap of some sort  and I don't know if it comes off or how it comes off if that part of the swingarm needs to be lubricated.  Please see attached photos,  the one with a red arrow pointing to what I'm talking about as far as a cap and lubricant?  Any help will sure be appreciated. Oh, I have a Terraplane sidecar.

Thank you

Frank

Frank,

I'm not a Terraplane guy but there is a Vetter club.  That includes the various Vetter tupperware and the Terraplane sidecar.  According to the site, it is suggested that the shock is the one that fitted the shaft side of a 70's Wing.  Here's the site http://www.vetterowners.com/

There's also a .io group that's just Terraplanes.  https://groups.io/g/VetterSideCar

There are a lot of Terraplanes still out there and there are many owners on this site and the others.  Good luck
