A MC riding friend posed a question that I could not find an answer to as we are both interested in sidecar equipped bikes.

He is interested in putting a hack on the left of the MC versus the traditional ride side.. Is there a reason or law about this?

Thanks..

Check with your local constable about laws, but typically the hack is placed on the same side as the passenger would ride in your automobile. The practical reason for that is to increase the driver's ability to see around that big, slow moving caravan ahead of you. If you mount contrary to local norms, you have to put a significant amount of your vehicle in harms way for the driver to see.

Now, if you are building a rig for someone with physical challenges that plans to Drive from the hack, then yes, you would want to switch 'em around.
