What car for bigger passenger?

I'm wanting to put a sidecar on my 2000 RoadKing. I would like a more classically styled car. Something like a Liberty, Spyder or even factory H.D. style. My problem is I need to be able to haul a large passenger comfortably & have fairly easy access in & out. The passenger is about 6 ft & 225 or so. Is there anything that would fit the bill?

Thanks, Murf

None of the three mantioned will fill the need. You probably would do best with a URAL type for an open car classic style car, or one that opens for entry and egress (Formula II, Champion, CSC) for a more enclosed unit.

I can at, 6' 240#, sit in my Champion Escort comfortably, getting into it is, pretty much, gravity assisted, however, getting out takes a little gymnastics, pushing on the seat, reaching up, etc. Doable but you would be ill-advised if you thought it was a cake walk. I'm of probably average strength for my age, perhaps, even a little better than average when I consider the arm strength from handling driving the sidecar, as compared to having handled a 2 wheeled bike.
I would, at least, consider it. Once inside, the car is very comfortable. When I'd ride to the VA hospital, if I had a couple of hours, I'd climb into the car, prop the front up, and take a couple hours of shut eye.
My 2 cents

A Ural car is big enough for my 602 275 lb self. You might try Jay at Dauntless and have a look at his M72 rig. Very good stuff.

Take a look at our M72CX, We made this sidecar for larger people. It is like our standard M72 type sidecar but 4 inches wider.

.

My wife is about that size, and along with our Pomchee, both are comfortable all day long in our Liberty.

We have the step on the side, and entry and exit is easy.

We can build a sidecar in a classic style with about any variation in size you may want. Typically most folks want an entry door or door opening of some type and this is no problem. Electric Lift seats are also possible as sometimes getting in is easier than getting back out. Push a button seat goes straight up and ya walk out of it. Our sidecar bodies are handmade of 1/8" aluminum or 16 gauge steel. Most find it quite fun to be able to work together with us to deveope just what they want or need.

A CSM modular design sidecar. The rear trunk can be removed and various other size additions can be added or you can just use the rack itself for a duffle.

The CSM American Classic:

This is one we did for Make A Wish Foundation. It has a fold down ramp to run a wheelchair up in it. The bike has aftermaket trees on it and also an adjustable torsion bar rear suspension.:

Another wheelchair sidecar on a BMW LT. This one went to the artic circle 3 up.

Thanks to all who have replied. I guess there are more variations than I imagined!

Claude, What kind of price range would that American Classic be in?

Thanks, Murf

Claude, great looking rigs, and definitely allows the mind to wander all over the place when it is time to get an additional rig (not a replacement for our exisitng rig but one to keep it company).

So, pretty much no way a large person fits in a Spyder? I've found one locally for a good price but I fear it is too small.

Could a person ride 2 up on the bike with all the gear packed in the chair? This would be for camping trips, probably no more than 100 lbs of gear. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to learn this way.

Thanks, Murf

The Spyder has a 17" wide seat and np wiggle room. Two full sized adults on the bike and 100# of load is unsafe.
