Velorex rim

My Velorex 562 spokes have become frozen and noisy. I took the unit to the local guy [ the only shop in a town of 2,400 ] and he tried to no avail to unfreeze spokes and adjust. Velorex offered a company that sells stainless replacements , but the cost of spokes and labor to replace seems high. I'm wondering if anyone has had luck using a wheel from something readily available at a more reasonable cost. Thanks.

If it is an early 562 with the 15mm axle it will be hard to find a 16" replacement wheel.
Many go to a larger axle and use other wheels.
Others upgrade to a 1" axle suspension conversion which uses a flat tread automotive wheel and tire.

I have an 18" wheel on my 560 with the 15mm axle. I'd like to find another
spoked wheel as the one I have is pitted. Any suggestions?

Those Velorex rims can be found under a Jawa/CZ search on ebay Gilberth.
Same wheels with the exception of the brake plates.
I bought 2 got 2 others for the price of shipping.

I was able to make a nice 18" and a 19" by picking and swapping spokes and backing plates. The 19' will require a remount of the front fender mount on the 560 but I'm looking forward to the little extra ground clearance I'll achieve with a 3.50x19 trials tire.

Theres a nice WM3x18 on there now (buy it now listings) for $99.
Not a bad price for good chrome inside and out and what looks like most of the finish still remaining on the spokes.

If you can find a new rim a 36 stainless spoke/nipple set will set you back about $90.
