Hello,
Does any know the thread size of the bikeside attachment U-bolt for a Velorex attachment kit?
If I am unclear in explaining, it is part #16 on the attached drawing . I can't find any nut that will fit properly.
Thanks

Velorex doesn't use them.
If you are wanting to use them as a jam nut to get the proper angle for strut attachment, check with a bolt/nut/screw provider (we use Tacoma Screw Products).

Or, you can just grind a small amount off the tapered end of the eyebolt.

Thanks for the input.
Velorex screws the U-bolt into the block which is threaded.
I want to put the U-bolt through steel plate and secure it with a nut that is why I am trying to find out the thread size. My local hardware guy was unable to help.
Thanks,

The eye bolt?
We've sometimes welded the block to another piece when making sub-frames.

You can also use the threaded block for a holding nut.

I'm guessing that you're kinda new to the game, so I'll make this simple, maybe too simple, so no offense intended or implied but I want to make it easy. Since Velorex uses metric bolts, set your digital calipers on metric then measure the diameter of the bolt. Don't have digital calipers? Buy some - HERE . If the bolt measures 10mm, then that's a M10 bolt. If 12mm, then it's a M12, etc. Next, take your calipers and measure the length of 10 threads. If 10 threads are 15mm long, then the thread pitch is 1.5 (15 divided by 10). If they are 12.5mm long, then the thread pitch is 1.25. Once you know the bolt diameter and thread pitch, then you can look at an online guide (like THIS ) that'll tell you if the thread pitch is called course or fine or superfine. Now you got what you need to order whatever nut you choose on McMaster-Carr's or Tacoma Screw's or Bolt Depot's website.

Have owned 5 rigs but Rig #2 is my current one!

Thank you both for the information.
Drone, you're right. Although I've owned and rode a rig for a while, this is my first attempt at putting one together.
The information was just what I needed.
The Bolt Depot site is great.
Thanks again,

In general the "universal" mounts that Velorex uses are a bad idea, proper bikes specific mounts work much better. But to answer your question it is 18mm 1.5 thread pitch.
