The shock absorber and spring are rubbing on each other. If you are looking down from the front it is rubbing from about 9 o'clock to 3, at 12 o'clock quite a bit. I'm afraid it won't be long and it will rub thorough. I have about 4000 miles on the sidecar. Any help would be appreciated.

Check to see if the shock's aluminum adjustment ring is broken or missing. If adjusted with full pressure on the shock with the wrong tools (Channel locks) they can break.

If it is an older Velorex check the shock. About half of the ones we have taken apart to upgrade have had the shock come out in two pieces. The shaft comes out of the body of the shock. As long as the rubber bumper is in palce the shock will not extend far enough for the shaft to come out of the shock when driving even if it is no longer connected properly.

This is the first time I've heard of this problem with the upgraded shock.
The adjustable shock has the rod at the top and a protective sleeve surrounding it. The spring is a close fit so it may have a tendency to rub against the protective sleeve. If the suspension hasn't incurred any damage (bent swingarm or shock) it shouldn't be a problem.
