I'm trying to use the Velorex mounting hardware on a 94 California 1100. The lower rear( 90 degree) mount has me stumped. The u-strap is too wide to slip between all the welded brackets on the lower frame rail. I hate to get too fancy as I wanted to keep this a simple job. Am I making too much out of this or is there a simple solution that's been found a long time ago?

I sometimes shorten the strap a bit or cut away some gusset material to attach the u-clamps to the bike frame on different applications.

Thanks much. That's exactly what I ended up doing. Hearing it from an expert puts my mind at ease.
