I am planning ot build my own utility sidecar and was searching suspension set ups and came across these axles. Rubber torsion axles, any input or ideas would be appreciated

They all tend to be to stiff however if you go with UCF America they have a very light duty unit that can be purchased where the swing arm is attached to the torsion unit with splines. The advantages of this are that as these are only sold in pairs, one pair will work to build two sidecars rather then one as with the splines they can go either way. Another advantage is if you want to weld to the swing arm brackets for a brake you need not worry about heat damaging the rubber as you will have removed the swing arm. We do make a weld in brake kit that will work with these units.
We used these units on the rigs we built for cool cycles ice cream, they work ok for cargo, I would not want to use them on a passenger sidecar.
BTW, we will be posting on our site latter in the week a new sidecar frame kit where we do the critical welding on the swing arm and then every thing else is fitted for you to weld. We will offer the kit for use with a trailer type wheel or a motorcycle wheel with or with out a fender and with or with out a brake.
