Hi all, I live in Lawrence, KS and just bought my first hack: a 2008 Ural patrol with ~2800 miles. I'm going to pick it up and trailer it back from Iowa next weekend. I thought I'd begin by changing fluids, oil filter plugs and adjusting the valves. There is no Ural shop close by so I'll need to order the filters (and plugs?) online. SO, my question ism should I be ordering anything else while I'm at it? Is there anything else I should do to make sure the bikes in good working order? Also, are there any other folks in my neck of the woods? I'd like to participate in a tech day (or on-going tech days) and rallies in the region. I've got a bit of a learning curve ahead of me! Thanks in advance? /mark

You might order in line fuel filters to place in each carbs gas line.

While you are ordering oil filters, get a couple of the rubber "nipples" that fit in the end of the filter. They are reusable but have a nasty habit of getting forgotten, thrown away with the filter then missed horribly when things do not seal up! Also order a few of the crush washers that fit on the drain bolts. They are semi-reusable but are best replaced with every oil change.

You probably ought to check you carb sync. Can either be done with clear hose on a stick filled with AT fluid or you can buy a sync tool for about $100.00
