My wife's bike is a 2001 road king and I would like to install new trees to help with her handling, problem is I do not know what trees or rake to install to achieve a better handling rig. Any help here would be appreciated.

Liberty trees for the Harley are 5 degree raked. Using Harley trike trees is less expensive but I think they have less rake since they still use a steering damper. The Liberty trees do not need a damper.
Much lighter steering without one.

We go with 5 degree tree's $875, We have found that if you have a front end shake with out the tree's you are still going to have it with the tree's. It will just be much easier to control as your steering effort will be lighter. In general, with the FLH Harley's if you have good solid mounts and have your alignment set corretly you will not have a front end shake. In the last two weeks we have done 3 FLH's two with modified steering one with out. None had any need for a damper.

Mine is a '96 FLH with a Liberty sidecar. Pete at Liberty did the mounting and the 5 degree Liberty trees. I'm very happy with the rig. I have 112,000 miles on it now and it seems to me that I had the Liberty mounted at about 85,000.

Jaydmc, I was down at our local Harley dealer not long ago and I asked them about the trees on their trikes. Not only did they not know if they would work on my wife's bike, they also did not know what rake they were? I think I'll stick with someone who works with sidecars .

why are these so costly? I see 5deg trees at places like j&p cycle and other aftermarket places, for $350. Is there something special included in the sidecar dealer version?

I just bought a 98 heritage softail to mount on my sidecar that has been sitting in the barn for a couple years. It is Liberty serial# 00006, which only fits early softails. I want my wife to be able to ride it,,as she keeps dropping bikes at stopsigns LOL,,,getting expensive

The less expensive tree's do not usualy come with fork extentions or new bearings and are normaly set up for more of a custom look, they seldom work with stock fairings and such. The tree's we sell and I assume the tree's Liberty sells all stock parts go back on the bike, the bike looks stock other then the front wheel is moved forward.

I have a 2003 FLHTC & CAL ll side car with the Tri-Glide triple trees and I have 5000 miles on it with NO PROBLEMS. The Triglide trees come with bearings. I extended the forks with 2" spaces. I have a sketch and part numbers if your interested
