I have a 1993 appx. Champion Escort and can't seem to remove the lens for the taillight. It has popped out at the top and will not stay pushed in but acts like it is glued in at the bottom. Not sure if perhaps a previous owner may have glued it. My question is, can it be removed from the outside and does it just pop in or out? Thanks

I don't believe that the lens is removable. It is a Lexus tail light and like most cars, the bulbs are replace from the back. There should be a couple of screws in the top of the housing inside the trunk. Remove those and the entire unit should slide out. You may need to reglue the top of your lens. At least that is the way mine works. BTW, there is a replacement light assembley on ebay, I think from Flordia Sidecar Products.

I haven't a clue as to what type of light that you have, but it may well be possible that your's doesn't have a replacable bulb.

Some of the Truck-Lite lights have non-replaceable bulbs - it's a single assembly, when the bulb burns out, you have to buy an entire light. Found this out on my Kenna Double, replaced it with an identical dimensioned light, but with a replaceable bulb.

Have an Escort about the same year. My taillight housing was held in the fiberglass body recess area by three screws that were accessed from inside the trunk. Two screws were on top and one on the bottom. Had to feel around to find the bottom one. A small mirror and light helps. They looked like wood screws when I removed them, not sure if they were factory original or former owners of the rig did it.

With the housing out, you can then replace the bulbs inside.

Glad I saw this thread. I haven't to replace any bulbs yet, but it's nice to know how it comes apart.

I had mine out over the weekend and mine has all three screws on top.
