I just wanted to see how much toe in I have so I stood a 2x4 on it side and laid a stright 8 foot stright edge that was well supported on top and pushed up against the rear tire to aline it and then measured to the center of the sidecar tire which has a auto tire with a center rain groove to find the difference and found that there was a 1/32 toe out?, this can't be, the old tire wore from the outside in as it should with toe in and the rig runs stright and true now, I know that it usally the practice to put a stright edge to the outside of the car wheel but the rain groove can't be off that much if at all,,,,how can this be?

Your tire gives you a false reading. The straight edge needs to be against the rim instead of the rubber. As far as I'm concerned, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it feels right and is giving reasonable tire wear, tell yourself to go for a ride and don't think about it again.
Another option! If everything feels right, measure from a fixed point on the sidecar frame near the front, to a fixed point on the bike frame. Maybe the lower mounting bolt for the front tube to the fron engine bolt. Now do the same in back. Write down both numbers and never worry about straight edges again.

I have the cross tubes marked so if I have to seperate it I can put it back to the same place, I agree with if it ain't broke statement I was just curious, when it was set up it was done with a theodolite and a computer.
