Seat belt install question.

Hey there everyone.

Has anyone here ever installed a seat belt in a Velorex sidecar? I have a 565 and want to install a set to keep my four-year-old seated during our short rides. I'm thinking that I should use the frame mounts below the seat. Any thoughts?

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Fin

We always attach them at the rear body to frame mount bolts behind the seat (all Velorex models).

Thanks Lonnie. That is exactly what I was thinking but thought I better double check.

P.S. My boys are climbing over each other for a ride... 🙂

my daughter was 4 when we put her car seat in the cali1 car,..seat belt was bolted to the frame, then the car-seat had a 5 point harness for her to remain secure ,...I also installed a HAANS device to keep her helmet secure on impact, as well.. my 2 cents, crawf.

I'm planning on using my son's car seat but haven't heard of the HAANS device. Can you give me some details? I'm off to Google. 😉

Ahhhhhhh... I hadn't thought of the head and neck restraint. Dam smart idea. Any thoughts on where I can shop for them in children's sizes?

I simply tethered with a spring loaded clip, the rear of her helmet to the rear of her seat with a 4" cable ,enough to restrict head forward movement....with her " Gazoo impression" ( flintstones) the helmet is too heavy for her to hold on impact,...I liked the body of the CF1 car for her safety, very enclosed, shoulder height, ....if I wipe the rig out,...she'll be the only one un-harmed.. shame Dale Earnhart didn't use one eh? ...good luck crawf.

Another good idea by Crawf. 🙂 I think I'll look into doing similar on the velorex. I have the 565 with the high back so it might just work.
