I've recently begun to Research the Flexible mounting method. Luckily I have a Friend who can bend the tubing and help with fitting and welding. I don't have a car yet, but I think a Velorex 562 or something similar will be a good choice for my bike '96 Triumph Thunderbird.

I've located some good places on the bike for securing the mounting brackets. I think I can build in lateral adjustment for the rear mount, and vertical adjustment for the front mount should be relatively easy also. So assuming I have a solid stop mechanism built in for right turns. What happens when I lean all the way to the stop mechanism? Does that create a potentially dangerous situation? I am assuming the rear wheel of the bike would get light and want to slide.

What say you guys who've done this?

Also what about the rear mount and offsetting it to the right? I don't understand how that can help steer the car. I do understand it might be necessary to clear the exhaust.

I guess that's enough questions from a newbie. I am getting anxious to start making the parts for the mounting bracket/subframe.

That happens to me sometimes. (I don't have the stop mechanism. My right knee just hits the tab.) But it's not in high speed turns by nature so I just slow down more and everything is fine. I think it's easier to cope with than sidecar lifting up with rigid rig in similar situation.

I cannot comment on this one. Mine has 4" offset but I haven't experimented with other offset amount including 0".
But clearing the exhaut may be enough reason to offset. I set both front and rear suspension preload to max. I easied them a bit for better riding comfort but then the subframe touched the ground in right turns.
Without the offset the rear pivot point must be so close to the ground to get enough lean angle and that creates a problem unless you have rigid rear suspension.
