Hi. I have a 2004 Velorex 700 with the 20mm axle. I`m currently trying to remove the sidecar wheel, but am not having any luck. The brake shoes are free of the drum, and I`ve tried heating up the hub to release the bearings from the axle. Even tried hittting the inside of the rim with a soft mallet. Still no joy. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a rust problem.
I 've loosened some with a good soaking with a penetrating oil (WD40), let it work to soften the oxidation somewhat, then install the axlenut castle side in flush with the end of the axle to protect the threads. Then tap the axle end sharply with a brass drift or hammer to loosen the wheel while pulling outward.
The axle can be pushed clear out of the wheel (and swing-arm) since it is only retained by a flange on the other end.

Thanks for that! Great tip. Worked a treat. I just put a bit of heat on the hub before giving the axle a good few wallops. Came off easily. I`ll make sure that the sidecar wheel comes of at least once a year to lube the axle. Lesson learned! Thanks again
