hey guys, i have a question; i drive a 650 V-Star with a rather light-weight sidecar, and i am getting a "popping" noise in the rear wheel in a left turn still drives okay; no jumping or skipping, just a popping noise.. has anyone else had this in a shaft drive??

My guess is wheel bearings. Maybe the splines need inspection/grease. How much life is left on your rear tire? Maybe time for a rear hub overhaul when you change rubber.

The cuestion is from where it comes. Something has to move. points I had in my riding time were:
loose spokes
worn wheel ball bearings
worn swing bearings
or gap between frame and swing
I have no experience with shaft driven bikes. but there you could have worn ball bearings o to much play between the gears or worn cardanic cross joints.
Best luck seearching
Sven
