Raked triple trees

Great news ! it is done !!
Raked Triple Tree fitted and tested, big difference, at legal speeds it is now absolutely effortless to turn corners !! Bends in the road a merely just a thought ! one handed roundabouts are no longer a myth !!
I am pleased !
Next project, stiffen up the rear end ( just a little ) the Kwaka VN2000 is not great in the load carrying department but beautiful and comfy to ride, with a sidecar attached she needs to be beefed up a little.
Anyone had any experience with this ?

I don't have any experience with the VN2000, but Progressive Suspension has a good web site, I think that you could find what they sell or recommend for your rig, and the weight. Good luck with it, glad to hear that your triple tree worked out for you.

I'll give this a plus one. Progressive sells a sidecar shock for the Goldwing that did as much for the ride and handling as my PowerTrak did for steering.

Where I come from that is not a very encouraging statement. I'm assuming that you're not overly impressed with your PowerTrak SidecarMike.
I have time so I'll research the whole thing before I decide. I've seen Air shocks that are adjustable on the fly advertised for not much more than progressive shocks so that's an option. May even be a better buy because I don't always run with a full load and my back can't handle a stiff suspension not loaded up, while the rig bottoms out when loaded. Need to check out the reliability of the air shocks.

Actually, I really like the California Sidecar PowerTrak. While I had it apart, I did insert a set of Progressive springs, as recommended by the company. Until I found them for cheap, I swore I would never use them. Nearly everyone I know who runs a leading link started with an altered fork tree. In addition, altering the geometry always makes the front of the bike sag. The PowerTrak comes with longer fork legs so it brings the bike back up to stock height.

Someone had ordered this setup years before, then sold their trike before they were installed. I think I paid about 1/4th of what CSC gets for one. It was well worth the money.

Same with the rear shocks. I am very happy with the way they ride.

Thanks for clarifying that. I'm not so concerned about the front end sag as I run a slightly smaller car tyre on the rear and she now sits more level, also gears her down just slightly so she pulls better in top gear and the drive belt doesn't snatch so much.

All I'm looking for now is to be able to stiffen the rear end when I load her up. I can't do that now because I already have the shock up on the stiffest setting when I ride empty and she still bottoms out on those lovely canyons that they build into the tarmac ! I'm not a midget ! and most things in this world are built for midgets !

I have a mate here who has a wingnut the same as yours, he fitted a 3 degrees triple tree and it works fine for him, he also fitted progressive inserts but pulled them out after only traveling 1 mile ! He also runs a slightly small car tyre on the rear and that compensated for the front sag.

A Leading Link custom made for my Kwaka would cost almost as much as I paid for the bike !

Kimbo, we've used Ikon Suspension shocks/springs with good results, including some truly custom made shocks for our former K100LT/EML. And they're an Aussie company. Might check with them.
