Has anyone ever seen a sidecar mounted to a Beemer R1100R. Would the cantilever suspension pose a problem?

Thanks

Yes. I know a couple in MN that have a very nice R1100R + EZS rig. Works great.

I have no idea what you mean by a "cantilever". Neither the 'Telelever' - the A-arm/balljoint/lower triple clamp/shock set-up in the front - nor the 'paralever' - the single-sided swingarm in the rear - cause any problems with a properly designed and mounted sidecar. IIRC, all BMW oil-heads have a telelever front end and there are hundreds [well at least a lot] of R1xxxGS's out there with sidecars attached.

At least one manufacturer, EML, replaces the entire front end - from upper triple clamp through the wheel - on their sidecar setup. I like that [obviously, since I have one] because it not only gives me a leading-link but also strengthens the front end

I had aBMW R1150GS with a Sidewinder leaning sidecar that worked fine stock but lowered. My EML & Hannagian ridged rigs have leading links and car tires.

We have done many of these bikes and offer bike specific NOT universal mounts, steering modifications as well as an automotive rear wheel, my own bike is a GS which is a very similar bike. I would have responded sooner but had my bike at the national BMW rally and just got back.
The telelever front end works great for sidecars and is easy to modify for sidecar use.
