I need some advice and some suggestions on mounting a Velorex Sidecar to a 73 Honda CB500. When i bought the rig the bike needed some work so I unmounted the sidecar. I want to install the sidecar properly since originally it wasn't. I was able remount it temporally but I want your suggestion. It's using what I believe are universal mounts and mounted directly to the frame of the bike, no subframe. I spoke Doug Bingham and he said he would install it and take a couple days but it'll cost me about $850. I want to try and save money as much as possible but worst case if I find it too much to install I'd take it to Doug.

Here are the pics. Please click to enlarge:

Hope you guys can help me out. I would greatly appreciate it.

Your image links are not posted correctly, not working links. I believe in some the = sign should be removed, others contain too many brackets.

Build a subframe to spread your bottom mounts out. It can be quite simple-this one I built for my Suzuk;it bolted to the motor mounts. The bottom rear mount proved to be flexible so I added some flat bar to resist lateral flex and added a mount to the centerstand pivot. That fixed the problem. Your bottom rear mount is frightening. It looks like it goes to a cast foot peg? Good for you for recognizing your mounts need to be re-worked!

Unless you are a trully skilled, I would let Doug do it......Heck, I think just buying a subframe is that much and it still takes a bunch of fiddling to get everything tuned just right...
