I don't want to start to yearn and flame, just remember a photo of the father of your actual boss in Washington where he promotes US production in front of a ware house full of Taiwanese and Chineese products. They had to tape and paint over the boxes "made in" labels.

Since 1990 I have to service frequently Indian, Chineese, Taiwanese, Tcheck, Italian, German, Swedish, US and even Russian and Japanese tool machinery. What do you think I have in my machine shop? And why I do not like of the shelf Asian stuff?
(I must correct Japanese lathes DID convince me)

OK enough flameing, I stop now.

Just check every bit of your bike and best get yourself a crack inspection set.
(2 special spray paints one penetrating one absorbing (both you can wash of after the inspection)
(or magnetic colour powder you inspect with a huge magnet => didn't convince me that much as the paint set)
If your hardware dealer doesn't know ask in a tool machine shop or a metallurgic engineer.

Best luck
Sven Peter
