I picked up a NightHawk 750 to replace the V-Star 650 so I could get some more power and hopefully better handleing. Can you guys/gals tell me were to look for the real tech info on setting up a rig for the best handling. Like I was told the axl on the sidecar should be 12" to 14" in front of the rear wheel axl. I was also looking at using car tires on at least the rear. And I keep hearing diffent #'s when it comes to the amount of trail is the best. I am will be mostly back road riding with lots of twistys and just once in awhile will be jumping on a highway. Thanx for taking the time to help a fellow hacker out. Take care...Jason

Jason,
If you want to get technical, download the books that Hal Kendall has available for free on this site and start reading. You can also check out the info at the Sidecar Industry Council site.
"What you've been told", is what has worked for someone with a specific bike and sidecar. This worked for them and may have no bearing on what is right for you with your particular setup.
All sidecar rigs are unique unto themselves. I have set up hundreds of them and no two handle exactly the same.
The above mentioned sources represent years of good mechanical knowledge and safe application. You can setup from them and tweak your rig for your best handling from there.
