Jolly Roger 2 turned down to Wendy

Hello Friends,
Thursday Jolly Roger 2 my Jawa 350 rig came finally out off the shop where it was since Oktober. I better don't mention the mistakes made by them.
I passed quite a lot of time erradicating their mistakes.
Sad story that with only 14.060km it has the second time a full engine rebuild.
Saturday technical revision it passed excellent...except that in the national property register must work analphabets...
So after only 26km out of the shop I took off the side car in 26 minutes and in 31 minutes made the first ever ride on 2 wheels with it on our farm. I will keep off the sidecar for at least 3000 km for to run in the engine. (Hope to get a day off this week to enjoy at least one tour this summer before the rainy season starts soon.)
Funny is that from only 26 km in 2 days my shoulders ake. And from 60km as solo nothing bothers my bad back. But I feel nervous: I have to intentionally think not to pull or monkey in bends or in front of our famous holes on the costarrican "roads".
How much changes on the same bike. Its like it "grew" in instants 5-8 cm.
suspension is extremely hard now. The steering damper made me a bad surprise, because I didn't open the friction plates wide enough. The front fork I will have to straigthen out, because its twisted from left bends and drifts. Breaks feel excellent now even on those steep hills, where I had to pray before with the sidecar attached.
I am allowed to go only at 2-300revs and keep the engine temperature very low, with the sidecar I was for those 26 km the turtle. Now I can flow with trafic and the engine stays at least 10ΒΊC cooler then with the sidecar.
The sidecar mounts don't disturb much, allthough the lower back one reaches 8 cm out of the foot peg. It just must look very strange from the back.
I am interested how the engine will feel when I will have it run in this time without the load of the tub. I am pretty sure that the engine will appreciate the time of mercy. The low sprocket ratio helps a lot in our mountains even for solo driveing.
....
OK, Now it is official:
My rig "Jolly Roger 2" got an transsexual operation and turned into female.
All my solo bikes were Ladies even my NSU Super Max. (except Speedy Gonzalez my firt bike in '82)
What name could be an option for Peter Pan?
She became now "Wendy" - what else...
----
Hopefully I find an appropiate work horse with water coolant and enough grunt for the sidecar. If not in the rainy season the sidecar will get hooked on again.
------
Today I remembered my former Norton....
"The Nor-tone is still the best tone!"
A collegue has a 750 Commander rebuilt and unused...
Are other gears available for the Norton Commander's gear box?
The original gears don't help much for a sidecar even if you change sprockets: 1. shift 95km/h - 2. shift 125km/h
What I loved was its torque: in 4. shift turn down the throttle to idle and slow down to walking speed and pull it again ,brt, brt, brt, brt ... without any swallowing, it pulled like a bull to full speed again.
Time will tell.
For now good night and enjoy winter, snow another thing I dream of.
Sight...once upon the time...
Best regards
Sven Peter Pan
Could you post photos of your "Wendy"?
I am interested!
