HD sidecar I.D.

I've been asked to look at a sidecar for a friend. The seller claims it's a 1974 Harley. How do I verify this? He's wanting to mount it to a 1974 FX. He's also concerned about it interfering with his kickstart. I told him it should not interfere, my old one didn't, but mine was 25 years older than that. Did I tell him right?
Get the serial# and run it by Harley Davidson motor Co. Customer service.
The CLE and TLE cars had different mounts. One was for the FX's the other for the FL's.

I'm going to look at it on Friday. Thanks. Kickstart won't be a problem?
Harley installed them on kickers and we're talking stock type mountings.
I don't see a problem there.

Mike,
On my 72 fl the kick starter did hit the frame of the sidecar
I cut it down (the pedal) so it would clear the car frame.
The local dealer told me that HD used a straighter arm on the trans unlike the ones that have a little bend to it.
Something else to consider are the exhaust pipes.
A 47 frame to a later bike will also require a mounting block for the swing arm to mount the bottom rear mount to the bike this clamps over the swing arm and may require moving the rear brake line hose.
