I have a 07 roadstar silverado with a 520 velorex sidecar / I have had other rigs but like this one / The handlebars get a tank like slap when I go to slow and hit a bump, pothole or just a crappie road / I have put weighr in the front & back of the sidecar and tightened up the steering knuckle and this seems to help....Any one got any suggestions...Thanks sidecarsrule

You must mean a 562 Velorex. Set up correctly we've never had wheel wobble problems with this combo unless driving with hands off the bars. Hands on any slight nose wiggle has been easily controllable if it occured.
Some install a steering damper to eliminate nose wiggle but we've never done that with a Road Star/Velorex combo whether 650cc or 1100cc.
Added weight always goes low and to the back if needed.

Yes it is a 562 velorex I have weight in both the front and back / do i need to take the weight out of the front and try it in the back? / i never take my hands off the bar at low speeds/ The wobble is always when I am on a rough surface....Thanks

How much weight are you carrying for ballast?

Velorex recommends up to 100# max ballast. You have too much bike for a stock 562.
We don't recommend the 562 as a proper companion to the RoadStar. Suspension is too light for a solid good handling rig.
(I was thinking you had a VStar. We've set up several of these using the 562's with upgraded suspension.)

Is there anything I can do to make the car compatible for my roadstar ? I really want a safe rig.......What do you recommend for a sidecar? Thanks

First thing I would do is put a Volkswagen steering damper on it....I have tried the aftermarket dampers, but the Volkswagen one is the best.... I also wonder if you spaced the sidecar further from the bike if that would help with the flying...

If safety is a concern, sell the 562 to someone with a smaller bike and look for a larger sidecar that will support the Road Star.
A car designed for a 300# plus bike is just not the right one. You need a heavier built car with stronger suspension and mount system. A hard left turn can capsize that 562.
Motorvation, Kenna, CSC, Champion, Terraplane, URAL models fit in this catagory and are available in the used market.
Many others depending on your budget.

I have a Texas sidecar mounted to my Roadstar....its not a heavy S/C but a 100lb of ballast takes care of that!! the frame and mounting system is very strong....
and Bob Darden works with you if you mount it yourself......good suspension and car tire with alum: wheel looks good!!

I am with Lonnie on this one, I have a Velorex 560 and it really is too light for a large bike...plus the axle should be heavier....big bikes put a lot of strain on that sidecar wheel in a corner...

I will do a dampner for sure...Do you know of Anyone out there that has a heavier sidecar suitable for the 1700 roadstar?

I like the looks of your sidecar . If bigger or heavier suspension is what I need then I guess I had better start looking..I can always sell the velorex

The first thing I want to do is put a damper control of Volkswagen, .... I have tried aftermarket shock absorbers, but Volkswagen is the best of them.
