Front or Rear Tire for Sidecar
Hello all -I am very new here as may be obvious by my question.
I have a Motorvation Spyder sidecar that was on a Heritage Springer that is now going on my Road King. The tire on the sidecar is a Dunlop Touring Elite III rear tire. Is that correct or should I replace it with a Dunlop tire designed to mounted on the front wheel of the bike?
Thanks
Pete
The tire will work fine as is. If you have a brake on the sidecar you may mount the tire with reverse rotation from the arrow indicator.
That rotation (arrow) is for traction purposes on a driven wheel. Reversed it may help braking traction a bit.

Lonnie:
Thanks for the info. The car does have a brake and I need to buy a new tire. It sounds like I may be better off buying a front tire (as they cost less than rear) and mounting it with correct rotation as indicated on the sidewall. Is that correct?
Thanks

Pete I consider a Rear Tire as the best choice and have had very good tread life with them on other rigs as well a a custom I built.
The primary reasons for a Rear Tire are:
Almost twice the Tread Depth for longer life.
Harder Rubber Compound for longer life.
Better Profile for more road contact.
And with many Higher Load Ratings.
In fact those same features are why I use a Rear Tire on the front of the bike.
