For full dressed rig owners.

I posted this question on a Touring Forum and received really varied answers. What kind of fuel economy do you get at Interstate speeds? Looking for machines equipt with fairings, stereo, saddlebags, etc. One guy with an HD Ultra Rig swears he gets 65 and another one says the best he's seen is 17. Where do you average? I'm talking, out on the Interstate with the cruise on.
Mike,
I get 31 at 70 MPH on the highway, with my BMW R75 with the R100RS engine, pulling my wife as passenger in the tub, and a fully loaded large cargo trailer [you saw it already :o)
without a passenger I would say roughtly 35-36 MPG. never really checked it that way, because I never used up a full tank all bt myself.
actually, I never got more than 40 with my old 750 engine riding solo , on 2 wheels.
I've never actually checked my gas mileage. But when someone else asked a question about it, I asked my husband. He says that I only get about 20 miles per gallon at interstate speed. It's not too bad driving 55 or 60 mph, but interstate speeds just gobble up gas! (1500 Goldwing SE & California Friendship II sidecar).

I get 52 easily with my '96 FLHTCU when it's just me. When Barb rode with me it dropped a bit and put either trailer on behind, load it for a long trip and both of us it would drop to 38 or 40. Now she doesn't ride with me any longer and I rarely tow a trailer so I get excellent mileage. But I just sent my deposit and build sheet to Pete at Liberty. It'll be interesting to see what hanging the car off the side will do to the mileage. But Archie will be able to go again. Sold his bike to buy the Liberty....

I dont understand your post. Your name is Tom ..who is Archie who sold his bike so you can buy a Liberty??
The gas mileage you are talking about is on a solo 2 wheeler?
Sorry Bob. Yeah, Archie is my pup with his chin on the car in the photo. The Ural was his bike. I sold it to be able to purchase the Liberty to put on the Harley. And it is a solo bike right now so the information I posted doesn't pertain to a rig. But it will soon be one...
Mike,
I have a 2001 Roadglide with California 3,bike is fully loaded.
With wife, daughter and all camping gear I average about 34-36 mpg
'98 RK, loaded, Stage 2 motor, with factory car and 140# monkey, 45 mpg Highway/41 mpg Freeway.
