With the help of many of you and a big thank you to DMC, I have put it all together and hit the road with my wife loving the sidecar. All has gone well with short runs of 200 miles checking all nuts and bolts all ok. Vacation time is near and looking to ride from Oregon to Montana with my California sidecar and wife beside me. My biggest concern is what is the biggest wear and tear part of pusihing a sidecar after or during a trip of a 2000 miles. Thanks

Rear tire wear is something to keep track of. With a new rig the rear tire mileage is an unknown factor. Rear motorcycle tires can last less than 1K miles if the alignment of the rig is off.
Don't worry about keeping the bike in the highest gear when pulling against the wind or uphill. With 6 speed bikes the top gear is usually an overdrive and better mileage can be obtained by dropping down one gear. This is also much easier on the power train keeping it running in a recommended power range and avoiding destructive lugging of the motor.

Thanks for the heads up on rear tire and gear selection. Leaving on Friday and will keep a eye on the new rear tire, Thanks Lonnie
