Earles type front end question - mine wobbles!
Funny you should say that Lonnie. I did almost exactly that yesterday after I got to the shop. I just tightened the headbolt up and gave her hell with a friend in a car behind me. At around 35mph, I tapped one side of the handle bars and it started a little wobble, shimmy is a better word, and then setteled down. Faster than 35mph and the bike is very stable. I tried to started a wobble every ten mph up to about 70 and the front end remained straight as an arrow. For as big ,long, and heavy as this bike is, it is very light on its feet. I think about where I want the bike and it just goes there. I am just now, today, trying to set up my comcast website and hope to have pics posted soon. THanks.
Hi All, I did an exact measurement on the trail of my front end and I have 3.3 inches. I took off the leading links and sent them off to the mechine shop and they are redrilling the pivot points (I have enough meat to do that) 1.7 inches forward, so my axle will end up 1.7 inches farther back increasing trail to 5 inches. I am hoping this will fix the problem. Thanks for all your input and I will post pics as soon as I spring for a Digcam. Cheers.
