Well I sold my 2002 GL1800 and Wednesday I will be Hacking again with a GL1800 and a Champion Escort. I had my last sidecar rig in the mid 70-80's.
On my solo GL I was using a runflat Continental ContiProContact SSR 195/55/16 at 33 psi. Would that still be a good tire for a sidecar rig?
The other tires I was considering was the Goodyear Ultragrip or the Kumho runflats. Since I won't be concerned about dragging the pegs, are there any better suggestions?

Check the mounting hardware. Hannigan has a diaginal crossbar on frame that "sort of" rubs if you really push it in a left hand slow turn. I mean BARELY! I'm going to "modify" it this winter with a slight bend and a spacer to make sure it doesn't touch. Also, keep tire deflated when you mount it...and it will pop right in...otherwise you will be cussing and fighting it all the way in. I'm on the road and don't remember the size of my rear....but it's been on for 3 years and regular balanced. No real noticable wear. I have replaced 3 fronts since putting it on. Handles better, breaks better, rides better. Never ride 2 up...so not and issue for me and if I did the dealer is about 1/2 mile with no turns from my house. Just my 2 cents. I can check when I get home what I've got on mine if you need me to you could also call Hannigans and snoop around, they've put them on for people and can give you tire suggestion too. That's who I spoke with when I did mine, along with the "darksider" links.

Thank you for the reply. The Champion has a car type tire, it's the Wing I am interested in. When on two wheels I already used a car tire on the rear, and a Bridgestone Battlax BT-45 130/70H/18 on the front. I think I will continue with the Battlax on the front. When using a car tire on the rear of our Wings, I try and look for one that has a rounded edge. But now being on three wheels that will not be as important, so I was asking if there might be better car tire for powering the rig? This is probably like opening a oil question, but thought I would ask anyway.
