Just what I said, am thinking all needed was to extend the two lower mounts, then make the top mount into a slider. any ideas?

Loonie, sounds like you have learned the hard way....
As long you can tell the story means you had luck.
Soon Indian summer will come and I get a picky gas hand for the North.
The few leaners I have seen were from Swiss and mounted to Guzzies which have more ground clearance then harleys.

I have seen a guy take the upper adjustment brace and cut in 1/2 and insert a turn buckle between the two pices and you had about a 1/2 adjustment in both directions, had a ratchet style wrench and could lean down and adjust in and out. I also saw an electric version with an internal limit actuator
