Hi Guys, my rig has the 21" custom front wheel but I'm thinking about going over to the standard mag wheel instead. Here are a few reasons why. The smaller mag would be more durable and put a little more rubber on the road than my spoked 21" tire. I also think it would handle lateral presure better too. And last but not least the mag is tubeless and if I got a flat I could plug it just to slowly limp home or to a nearby shop. Also it can handle all the newengland potholes better. Any input guys? I would love to hear if anyone else has switched and if it was worth it. BTW I'm getting the factory mag free from a buddy.

Good practical idea. The 21" wheel is just for esthetics.

I have changed from a 21 to a 19" a long time ago.....for the record I can say "I should of done it way before I did"
with your narrow front end the biggest tyre you can get in there is a 110.
I would also advise you to get yourself a fork brace...makes a world of difference.

Have fun...:)

I figured it was a good way to go, it just makes a lot more sense for a set up on a rig.

Unless Harley started to make tubeless spoke wheels I prefer the cast wheels because you can run tubeless. This way flats most of the time are much easier to fix. In my opinion a 21" wheel belongs on a dirt bike.

46U, I agree. the tubeless you can always plug in a pinch to get home. the 21" is under a lot of stress on a skinny sportster set up too.
