Chain life, size and oilers
My V Strom needs a new chain, has 11,000+ miles, which seems comparable to my other chain driven bikes. I plan to by new sprockets as well (to change gearing).
It seems intuitive that a rig would be hell on a chain? Have others found this to be true?
I am considering a couple alternatives
The Strom has a 525 chain. I can "upgrade" to a DID chain and perhaps to a heavy duty 530 chain (need to verify sprocket availability).
Also, I could add an oiling device like a Scottoiler. I have never used one, only heard of them, but then not that used to chain driven bikes.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
