Hello folks. Ive just aquired a California Friendship 1 that I will be mounting on a gl1100. Im starting to worry because I cannot source a tire anywhere. Does anyone know of a place to get one? or possibly a wheel swap that makes tire buying easier? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tire: 145sr13.

I may have gone to a 165 r13 on mine, I will check when I get home tonight, but I have had no problem getting them any time I needed one. The last one I picked up in Las Vegas on my way home from Griffith Park last Fall as I picked up a foreign object in it and it was time to replace rather than fix anyway. I have picked up a couple from my local independant shop over the years and the one in Las Vegas was the second one I replaced on the road the first being in Canada on the way back from running the Trans Labrador and both times the shop I pulled in to had them in stock. I do not really care the brand but all have been all season tires.

The 145 just fits under the fender. Coker tire offers these. We have also changed a few over to 12 inch wheels as 145 12 tires are not problem at all to get.

I checked mine and I have been running an 155 80R 13 on mine. I think I changed to the 155 right after I got the sidecar mounted and have been running them for the last 50,000 miles. There are 2 local independant tire shops up here and Big O and they all have no problem getting me the 155 13. I have bought two on the road as I said above and both times one in Las Vegas and in Saint John, New Brunswick the shop had them in stock.

Jay is there a difference in the clearance with the regular shock suspension as opposed to the torsion suspension I have? I have seen every combination between Friendship I and II bodies and torsion and shock suspension but I guess I never really looked at the clearance since the only one I really cared about was what fit on mine.
