Anyone have car tires on Harley rig? I got about 3,500 out of rear tire. I need some help. What size? Where can I get them? Rear needs to be replaced and I hate to put a bike tire on.

Hi biggin.
I'm running Twins from Jay all the way around right now. He's out of the 190's I'm pretty sure by now but last I knew he still had some 180's left. I want to go to car tires too next go round. I really like the looks of the Toyo Proxes T1-R but I'm not sure yet that it comes in a 16". Might only be a 17" which would rule it out.

i bought some 16" duro motorcycle tube type tires. they have a definitive "car style" tread. they seem to be wearing well and they handle great. i had them mounted last month. the "kicker" is that they cost only $39.00 each brand new. i'm sold on em.

Biggin,

Check your alignment before you commit to anything else.

Getting 3500 miles at the most sounds like a standard HD alignment job to me.

I run Dunlop PT-402 tires on the rear of my HD Roadglide/Cal.3 sidecar these tires are made for the Police bikes they have a extremely heavy sidewall to them which elimanates the tire flexing and the rubber is made of a hard compound for wear.

Although some say they are getting more I am getting about 7500 miles out of a tire.

If a dealer says he cannot get them go somewhere else....they are avaiable! Some may say this due to many factors. Some do not like to mount them and some are bascically idoits who want no part of sidecars and would rather sell new jackets that look old or fake tatoos. Some may even like to sell tires to sidecar nuts after only 3500 miles if you get the picture.
Get rid of some toe in and you milage should increase. You need to set the rig up for YOU which may be a little different than the motor company's corporate board room crew decided upon.
Note to Doc (Milheim Dave):
I will be at the shop tonight and tomorrow.
