Don't have a car or bike yet. Still going back and forth between a goldwing or an Indian. I read that I need to tether enough so the dog can move and sit but not jump half out of the car. Thinking of using an eyebolt just in front of the seat supported by a plate below and on top of the floor. I won't be able to do anything until Oct.
Some of the manufacturer's are installing tether points. I'd look at how they're doing it.
Which car you get is largely dependent on what you plan to do with it. In my case, Julie and I intend to continue long distance travel with our tent trailer in tow. For that reason, we are looking at touring comfort so she can enjoy those 600 mile days. Good luck in your endeavour.
