Looking into getting in the sidecar carnival and wondering how good the ride is in the car. Is it better then the passenger seat or is it bone jarring? I can't see buying one and then have the wife say she doesn't like the ride. I would be getting a gtl for a goldwing from Hannagon. Is the seat riser well worth the money to help get out?
I an not speak to Hannigans products, only ours, on our mid priced and above sidecars not only do they have a full swing arm suspension but the bodies are also mounted on rubber vibration isolators. We also use a high density foam in our seats. Most people say that the ride in the sidecar is better then on the bike.

WE Got a Hannigan GTL last June 1st on our 2012 Goldwing, so far we have put about 16.000 miles on it and the wife is still trying to find the best way to get out of it. As for riding if its cold, wet or she doesn't want her hair messed up she is in the car crocheting, if the weather is good she is on the back of the bike.
The only problem besides getting out was the first time I closed the top when she had her regular helmet on I shortened her about 2" so now she has a small half helmet for in the car.
One other thing for the first 8,000 miles had stock front end then the 4.5* steer lite added, if you like ridding the twisties and mountains like we do I highly recommend it.
Lol, so how many times do you figure I could get away with sorry hon and closing the top? Will it be big enough for a 150lb dog to sit on the seat?
I would not try for 2 as she has her CWP.
It might be better to take the seat out for the dog.

Which, in that case, how difficult would it be to take the seat out? Is it quick disconnect?

I haven't tried taking the seat out so I'm no help with that.
I guess the real question is, why take the seat out for the dog. If it is just to protect the seat, there are other ways to do that.
I would feel more comfortable with the dog being lower in the car. She is over 100lbs. and still will grow for another year.

Good point. I think it also depends on the size of the car sides as well. Do you tether?
Don't have a car or bike yet. Still going back and forth between a goldwing or an Indian. I read that I need to tether enough so the dog can move and sit but not jump half out of the car. Thinking of using an eyebolt just in front of the seat supported by a plate below and on top of the floor. I won't be able to do anything until Oct.
