Anybody seen or done this yet?
Lots have hacked a GL1800, but I'm looking for something more ...basic. We don't do CB or stereo or helmet MP3's or bike-bike communications or cell phones while underway, or any of the other 47 buttons of stuff to control that the GL1800 has to do instead of riding...Either a 97-2001 old school, or maybe a 2014? Have not seen a 2014 hacked yet, and do not know enough about the bike to confirm the frame is the same as the GL1800. The only thing I see missing is a fairing.
Our trusty GL1200 has over 40000 hack miles in the last 5 years; my only complaint is that running 75mph, there is not a lot of reserve power left... We blew a head (maybe gasket?) on our GL1200/Motorvation Formula II rig earlier this week about 30 miles outside Wall, SD. Was a long hot challenge getting rescued, trucked into Rapid City, and then stripping the rig to fit in a U-Haul truck, then driving home over 1000 miles. But I did learn that some Honda dealers will not work on a bike over 10 years old... ???
