Another Cruise Control Problem
Hi Everyone
My cruise control is on the blink. A week ago, when I engaged it, it dropped the cruising speed with 10 Km/h and I had to manually increase the speed to where I wanted it. Now it drops the speed about 40 Km/h and when I increase the speed manually, it doesn't hold it. And yes ... both lights show up on the dash. I have checked the cancel switches on the brakes, clutch lever and the throttle and they seem to be working fine. In any case, the light on the dash would not light up indicating that it engaged if there was a problem here. Any advice?

Doc, it's been almost 10 years since I sold my GL1500 Goldwing (I should've put a sidecar on it), so my memory is sketchy: The 1500 cruise control is an old-style vacuum operating system with a canister control unit under the right cover (as I recall). Maybe check the connections?

If you are in a high humidity climate you might also check the cannister for leaks.
