Any advice or experience on the above bike would be appreciated.
Mine is an '02 with 29K on it.
Thanks

I have a Vetter Terraplane on my 04 1150RT with 25k on it, I have about 5k on it with the hack. The more miles I put on it the better I like it. Other than going through tires every 6 to 8K I have no negatives at all. The mounts came from Dauntless and had to be manipulated a little bit, nothing to severe. If you need more info let me know.

Does the mount to the bike require cutting into the tupperware? Seems like it would. How easy is it to remove the sidecar for service to the bike?
What steering mods if any did you do?
Thanks,
Walt

I have a 99 R11RT with an EZS sidecar. With the EZS kit you start with a bike with no frame and a telelever and end up with a bike with a frame and no telelever!

On my rig, there were two modifications to the tupperware (great description!) - one a round hole for the rear upper strut and some non-visible paring away for the front upper strut (which connects to the the bottom of what used to the be the lower shock mounting point of the telelever.

Some pics at http://home.comcast.net/~stevewoo/Sidecar.htm though probaby out of date.

What kind of a rig are you considering?

Hey thanks for the reply....I am considering a Champion Escort with Dauntless as the dealer.

Like walt said you have to cut a 3/4" hole in the rt hand black side cover and on mine they just ground out a little behind the rt hand cylinder head. you have to get down on your hands and knees to see it. As far as steering I still have the stock set up. I would like to convert to one like Walts or even a center hub steering one day. The car comes off with in 10 mins for service or to ride as normal but with limited ground clearance in the right handers. But the way it sits now is good enough that I commute daily 70 miles 2 lane or 4 with no problem at all. I would hate to put $10k in it and then find out that I didn't like sidecars. If you go with dauntless give me a call first and I'll give you a little advise first. Nothing negative, just things to look for.
